Have you thought about putting a light cage over the bulb incase your boa wraps himself around it while its switched on?

yes i have and i will be doing so very soon and i allways watch him when the bulbs on but i am getting a cage for it just havent got any cash at the min lol but i always watch him

I use low energy bulbs if it's just for lighting then they can't burn themselves, the bulbs don't get hot enough.
